Goodbye Dog Days, here is the GAY Books of Summer

Heres out list of some of the best gay reading for this summer!! We still got some sunny afternoons left to cozy into bed and get to reading! We have attached the amazon links for each book and even if you're a Audible kinda gal, we got you too!


Red White and Royal Blue

If you haven't heard of this yet youre a little late to the game but its ok! Amazon Prime just made a film adaption of this book that is really blowing up! But this is about the book, check it out!


"Red, White & Royal Blue" is a contemporary romance novel written by Casey McQuiston. The story revolves around Alex Claremont-Diaz, the First Son of the United States, and Prince Henry of Wales. After a public confrontation turns into a PR disaster, Alex and Henry are forced to pretend to be friends to improve their image, leading to a deep and unexpected romance between them. The novel explores themes of love, identity, politics, and the challenges of being in the public eye while navigating a forbidden relationship.


Carry On

"Carry On" is a young adult fantasy novel written by Rainbow Rowell. It follows Simon Snow, a young wizard attending a magical school called Watford. Simon is deemed the Chosen One, destined to defeat the Insidious Humdrum, an evil force threatening the magical world. The novel playfully twists common fantasy tropes, weaving together elements of magic, adventure, and romance as Simon navigates his final year at school while dealing with his roommate and nemesis, Baz Pitch, and uncovering secrets that challenge his perception of good and evil.


Song of Achilles

"The Song of Achilles" by Madeline Miller is a queer retelling of the Greek myth of Achilles and Patroclus, centered around their romantic relationship. The novel delves into the unbreakable bond between the two characters, exploring their love and struggles within the context of ancient Greek society. Through the eyes of Patroclus, the reader experiences a poignant and deeply emotional narrative that highlights the challenges and triumphs of their love story. Miller's work has been praised for its skillful portrayal of LGBTQ+ themes within the framework of classical mythology, resonating with modern audiences.

Here’s To Us

Here's to Us is sure to be welcomed by fans old and new of these authors and their previous collaboration, What If It's Us. Critically acclaimed and best-selling authors Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera combine their talents in these smart, funny, heartfelt novels about two very different boys who can’t decide if the universe is pushing them together - or pulling them apart.

The Extraordinaries

"The Extraordinaries" is a young adult queer novel written by T.J. Klune. The story follows Nick Bell, a fanfiction-loving teen with ADHD, who is determined to become a real-life superhero. Set in a world where superheroes and villains exist, Nick navigates the challenges of high school while pining for his crush, Shadow Star. As he tries to balance his aspirations, friendships, and his complicated relationship with his best friend Seth, Nick discovers that being extraordinary doesn't always align with his fantasies. The novel explores themes of identity, self-discovery, and the complex emotions of adolescence within a vibrant superhero backdrop.


The Charm Offensive

"The Charm Offensive" is a contemporary queer romance novel written by Alison Cochrun. In the story, protagonist Dev Deshpande participates in a reality dating show called "The Charm Offensive," where he's meant to find love among a group of contestants. The twist is that the show's producer, Charlie Winshaw, is Dev's romantic interest, and their chemistry becomes palpable both on and off-screen.
